A few days after Marshall Jim Watson had been ambushed and killed by unidentified outlaws, his widow Martha, sat down to have a talk with their son, young Jim. The Marshall had his heart set on young Jim becoming a doctor, but with his Pa now gone, Jim had thought that dream was lost. Martha, however, would have no such talk, and tomorrow she aimed to send Jim to St Louis to study medicine, and she herself move to the lawless town of Hurricane. Martha had her own reasons for going to that particular place, and a year later when the Lone Ranger and Tonto arrived at the town, with the intention of letting Sheriff Bill Pollard know Dirk Smith and his band of outlaws were in the area, who were currently working on their plan of action to rob the incoming stage - on which Dan Reid - the Lone Ranger's nephew - was riding, along with young Jim Watson, who had flunked school and was out for justice for his father's murder. Little did he know, that the men who had murdered his father were the ones about to hold up the stage!
