Boston Blackie makes an appointment with Roger Harrison who has a new invention. No one but Blackie knows Harrison’s room number. When Blackie gets to Harrison’s room he finds that he ahs been murdered. Blackie theorizes that the killer found his victims room number by sending him an odd shaped plant and following its delivery. He goes to the shop where the plant was bought only to have the clerk identify Mary Wesley, Blackie’s girlfriend as the purchaser of the plant.
