The grey fog crept in along the deserted waterfront, swirling and eddying in the night, like the misty, elusive fragments of a terrorizing nightmare. To the girl standing on the wet and slippery dock, every shadow seemed a slinking, sinister presence, ready to reach forth and engulf her shivering figure within the folds of a suffocating shroud. Despite the warmth of her expensive fur coat, an irresistible chilling fear had gradually welled up within her, reaching a terrifying climax as a hand suddenly touched her on the arm.
