I Married an Angel is a delightful 1938 musical comedy with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart. It tells the story of Willy Palaffi, a disillusioned banker who declares that the only woman worthy of him is an angel. Lo and behold, his wish is granted when a literal angel named Anya descends from the heavens.
