In a place called Salem, Massachusetts, there lived a poor and common man, named Matthew Maule. He owned a few acres of land, which a rich man named Colonel Pycheon desired and wished to acquire to build a house. However, Matthew refused to sell the land to him, so since the rich man couldn't acquire it in a legal way, he set out to seize the land in the most treacherous of ways... He laid claim that Matthew Maule was a practicing wizard, and he was hanged... This is the story of the curse put upon Colonel Pyncheon and all of his descendants who would be forever haunted by the sins of their ancestor.
