Dan Reid was returning from a trip to Pecos from the town of Silverton. As he rode along on the stagecoach, he observed the two other passengers in the coach - a woman of around thirty, and a little girl of around ten years of age. Finally, the little girl - Diana - spoke to Dan, to let him know that they were going to Circle X to live with her grandfather after her Daddy died - a deputy who was shot down by outlaws. What they don't know is that leader of the outlaws at Silverton is the girl's grandfather himself, Hiram Weeks, a ruthless businessman who is trying to drive the cattlemen off their land so that he can build a railroad through the area.
