Harry Lime needs to get away from Paris and lay low somewhere which is why he found himself in a sleepy English village where the cows chew their cuds all day in the meadows and nothing ever happens, or so he thought. Harry Lime had never believed in witchcraft until then and it took a lot to convince him of anything and in this case it needed the death of two people in that sleepy English village to prove him wrong.
