Roland Fletcher's caravan holiday in Hampshire led him to making the acquaintance of Martha Enderby, an elderly cripple who used a powered invalid chair. She was in difficulties so he towed her up to her great country residence.
She was the twin of miss Carol Enderby who apparently although living in the same house they had not been seen together for thirty years and never spoke to one another...
