Great Expectations is one of English Author Charles Dickens's greatest works. This dark and tangled narrative has it's beginnings in the year 1821 when orphaned Pip was 12 years of age and living in the south of England with his sister and her husband. The story takes us from his childhood meeting with an escaped convict, his friendship with Estelle the adopted daughter of the mysterious recluse Miss Haversham to him growing in to a fine young gentleman with the help of an unknown benefactor.
Produced under the series name "Hollywood Radio Theatre" for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Services. (AFRTS) The story was previously produced on The Lux Radio Theatre on October 13, 1947.
