The town of Cheyenne was comparatively peaceful after the vigilantes eliminated the outlaw element and established law and order. But Sheriff Conway was always on the alert for trouble - especially when Hank Sherman rode in from his cattle range in the shadow of Laramie mountains. It was a routine visit, when the Sheriff entered the Plains Cafe one afternoon, to warn the cafe owner that the hothead was back in town, and to warn all the boys not to talk about the Union Pacific, because as always, Sherman would cause a riot. It had all started when the young railroad man eloped with Sherman's daughter - a year and a half ago now - and the fact that there was granite on Sherman's land that the railroad continually pestered him to purchase, really didn't help...
