Gilbert Dressler wrote to George Valentine saying that his life had been touched by evil pure unadulterated evil and asks for his help not only for himself but for the sanity of his fiancée Gabrielle who was being influenced by a clairvoyant called Madam Margo who was taking all her money from her. Gabrielle had been in touch with Madam Margo since her mother died and Dressler wanted George to expose her for what she really was, a fraudster.
