When death and murder become an every day occurrence it is generally labelled war; when brother kills brother on the battlefield it is the most bitter of victories nobody wins everyone loses and it is in such times that cowards and heroes abound.

It is the last year of the civil war, the confederacy is about to collapse. Re-elected Abraham Lincoln is loved and hated and Washington big-wigs are looking toward who will be the next president. They are looking for someone from the army, perhaps a General for that they need heroes not always easy to come by…
