A violent rain kept Penny Gibbs at the new home of Freddy and Nora for the night, but before dawn the next morning, Freddy and Nora were awakened by the smell of smoke. Choking, they ran across the smoke-filled living room to Penny's door and opened it, but it seemed as if the entire room were in flames, and when they called to Penny, they got no answer!
