The Fortune Teller is set in Budapest, Hungary, and tells the story of Irma, a young woman who is about to inherit a fortune. Count Berezowski, a poor Polish composer, is determined to marry her for her money. Irma, however, is in love with Hussar Captain Ladislas. The two lovers must overcome the Count's attempts to win Irma's hand in marriage.
