A radio play written by Norman Corwin, this is a poetic and satirical look at the history of aviation, from the early days of hot air balloons to the jet age. The play is divided into three sections: The Conquest of the Air, tells the story of how humans have always dreamed of flying, and how they have finally achieved that dream. The Price of Progress, is the next section, which explores the dark side of aviation, such as its use in warfare. The final section, The Future of Flight, looks to the future of flight, and imagines a world where everyone can fly.
