A couple of days ago, the great Gildersleeve's niece, Marjorie, and the husband, Bronco, left on their vacation, so the little house next door to the water commissioner is empty and quiet without the twins around. In fact, things are pretty quiet around at Gildy's house too, but Leroy really wants to go fishing at Grass Lake with his 'Unc', but he is planning on running over to Miss Gloria McKinley's house instead. On finding Bert Huggins there, Gildy also hears that they're also going to Grass Lake, so he changes his mind about fishing, and orchestrates them all being there at the same time...
