Ace Hanlon, gunlord of the plains, has been seen making tracks for the frontier town Dobie Town. Red Ryder and Little Beaver are riding towards the town when Little Beaver spots men pouring something into a nearby water hole. Red Ryder guesses that they are trying to poison the cattle on the range and rides down to investigate.
