The westbound stage creeped and swayed along the trail a few miles outside the town of Benton. Inside the coach, Dan Reid - the fourteen year old nephew of the Lone Ranger - sat staring out at the wild, familiar country he loved so well. Finally, the only other occupant of the coach - a pleasant looking man - began to converse with him, and Dan noticed he wore an incredible, crested ring.
