It’s almost one o’clock and Maud Jackson is concerned that the 11 o’clock stagecoach hasn’t arrived from Beranka Springs yet. As Chad Remmington and Cherokee are setting off to investigate the coach horses team run in to town without the coach. Mrs Jackson is concerned for her husband Jim who went on the coach yesterday to Beranka Springs to see senator Oconnell as the franchise for their stagecoach line was coming up for renewal soon. She told Chad that the other day he had said that he was afraid that this other coach company was out to get their franchise from them.
