Our story opens on the Lancaster estate in the suburb of your District Attorney's city. At the front door, Mrs Lancaster is just getting out of her lawyer's car. They spot her son, Drew, sat on the terrace, who was supposed to be lunching in town with friends from college, but it looks like he has been accompanied home by a young lady, called Laurie Ross.
