Calvin Coolidge was President of the United States from 1923 – 1929. This story took place in 1924 just after Warren Harding died and the Vice President Calvin Coolidge took over the presidency. It’s often forgotten that the great oil scandals that rocked the country began while President Harding was alive that it was President Coolidge that was faced with the problem of reconstructing the cabinet.
