Host of the show Bing Crosby opens the show with the cast, before the musical curtain is raised with the first tune With a Hey! and a Hi! and a Ho! Ho! Ho!  Next up is the show's special guests, George Burns and Gracie Allen, who try to get Bing to record a record with George. In passing, Gracie mentions 'This isn't real life, it's a transcription.'
