Clifford left the family home this morning on a quest for a job. He didn't get started quite as early as he expected, and was all ready several times, but then went back upstairs to make some changes to his wardrobe. It was about eleven o'clock when he pulled out of the driveway in his father's car, with his father waving encouragingly from the sidewalk. There's still no sign of him later in the afternoon, and it's getting dark.
