An elderly gentleman who would never think of eavesdropping, overhears part of a conversation as he passes his daughter Hazel's door on his way downstairs. It's Hazel on the telephone to Pinky, saying "it's the best news in years, I'll phone Dan too!". He's quick to tell Jack his assumption that Pinky's found a job, but maybe he should wait until Hazel comes down to tell them the good news herself.
