Jack Barbour climbs the front steps of his sister Hazel's house, where he finds Hazel on the phone to Del - an old acquaintance of the family, and ex-beau of Claudia. He is staying at the Fairmont Hotel until Tuesday morning, and would love to see all of them before he leaves. Hazel finds it all very strange, but discusses it with Jack after the call ends.
