When Ethan loses the use of his legs when the mast of the ship he is building falls on them he seeks help from the Master. The master does not say to him "arise thy faith has made you well", as he did to others, but he said to him, Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. With these words the master has helped Ethan but Ethan is too blind to know it.
