Blackie and Mary are out for a meal when a man approaches them. It's Bill Crane, Attorney who has had only a few cases and lost his only big case defending Jack King who was sent to prison for forgery. Crane didn't have any proof but he was convinced that King was innocent and wanted Blackie to help him prove it.
