Five foot eleven beautiful redheaded dame E P Duffield who had an art gallery in Pasadena hired Jeff Regan to find a missing artist and cat fiend named Thaddeus Mink. First track he got led to his sister but that was a dead end, somebody had strangled her. Then he went up to the mountains where somebody had poisoned seven cats in a place called Mountain Crest. Maybe Mink, after all Mink lived up there, only when Regan got to his cabin there was a corpse on the floor, Art Jones, Bunny's pal in the pinstripe suit, strangled with no shows on. Regan searched the cabin, not a shoe in the joint. But still where was Thaddeus Mink?
