While out on a walk in the woods Big Jon and Sparkie notice smoke coming out of the clubhouse shack and discover Mayor Plumfront living there like a hermit because his girlfriend has rejected him. Big Jon and Sparkie try to talk him round.

Jon completeley overlooks the fact that April 1st 1953 had come roung again and Mayor Plumpfront and Sparkie play a good April Fool's joke on Big Jon.
