Simon Templar has a visit from a writer who needs some advice. He’s writing a book about murder, the story of a perfect crime. He wants Templar to tell him if the murder his book deals with is really a perfect crime. The man he’s writing about in his book, a completely fictitious character of course, suffers from heart disease and is a completely unpleasant character, a financier and a crooked one, a man who deserves to die.
