It's a warm, lazy, spring morning in the southern university town. Harold Moffat, professor of geology at the university, is standing on the porch of his house, gazing up at the clear blue sky. He is concerned with only one problem at the moment - whether or not his rose vines are going to bloom. Little does he know that soon he will undertake the most dangerous adventure undertaken by a civilian in World War II.
