The town of Muldoon was comparatively free of outlaws, primarily due to the efforts of Sheriff Hank Pettigrew. The Sheriff was a grizzled old veteran of many fights, as tough as a pine nut, and he had an uncanny knack of judging men. He had picked Jim Lawson as a deputy five years ago, at face value, and was still hoping that he would come clean about his shady past. A handbill had come in to the Sheriff's office today, about an outlaw named Trigger Taylor, who had been dodging the law for a long time, and was wanted for murder, stage robbery, horse stealing and plenty more. There's a chance that Trigger is in the vicinity, and again, the Sheriff has an inkling the two men are linked somehow. But will Jim come clean?
