Well, Lum devised a fairly complicated plan to get the use of the lodge hall for a new Broom party political rally. Remembering that Thursday was a regular lodge night and that this particular Thursday permitted the presentation of candidates for membership, Lum forced Squire Skimp to forego the use of the lodge hall as his campaign HQ in order to carry on this regular lodge business. He then rounded up about four hundred men to present for membership with the idea of having a political speech delivered while the membership committee acted upon their applications. let's see what happens next...
