This afternoon Randy had learned about Kitt being arrested, the first step toward trying her for perjury. There was a strong possibility that the young woman would be imprisoned too, for their was no doubt of her guilt. But Kitt had been ill for some time, a mental patient at the Huntsville sanitarium. It was inconceivable to Randy that the district attorney actually intended to go ahead with the trial, instead of waiting until she had completely recovered.
