When Dwight Burgess realises his wife Leila doesn't love him and is only staying with him for his money and the two hundred thousand dollars he stands to inherit from his uncle Waldo he has it in his mind to kill her. He is following her with murder in mind but when he enters the building that Leila Burgess had gone in to he discover her slumped dead on the floor. fleeing the scene he literally bumps in to detective Brad Runyan aka The Fat Man and asks him for his help. Dwight denies killing her and begs Runyan for his help to find the real killer but all the evidence points back to Dwight Burgess.
