Kirk Douglas plays the part of callous George Mason who is set to inherit a large sum of money from his dying uncle. Kathy Lewis plays the part of Lois his long-suffering wife who feels she is nothing more than a housekeeper who doesn't get paid. Mason thinks she is only sticking around for his uncle’s money but when he offers her divorce she accepts. However, Mason's uncle dies and he fearing she will be entitled to half he goes to desperate measures.
