Veterans Day 2012

On Sunday 11th November 2012 it is Veteran's Day. It is a time to pause and remember the many brave men and women who have given their lives for the freedom of us all.

There were many great radio programs produced during World War II and one that sticks out among them is Words At War.

Produced in cooperation with the Council on Books in Wartime, Words At War serves to provide a true-life documentary on action in World War II from the people who lived and experienced it.

It was aired from June 1943 to June 1945 right in the midst of the war with stories of the battlefronts and the home front written and often told by many an unsung hero.

The shows are of great historical value each providing a "living record of this war and the things for which we fight".

There are many wonderful old-time-radio shows to remind us of the courage and bravery of our fighting men and women and Joy and I have put together an appropriate list for you.
