The first leaves are falling...

The first leaves are falling...

Well after the Labor Day celebrations, there's a definite feeling in the air that everyone's begun making preparations for the fall.

I've dusted off my old gum-boots to trudge through the mud from all the recent rainfall, and whilst walking the dog in the park this week, I took a moment to rest and sit watching the first leaves falling from the trees.

I don't know about you, but fall always leaves me with mixed feelings. I'm sad that the summer is nearly over... But I'm also excited for another season of dark chilly nights, warm blankets, spiced coffee, hot dinners, and cozying up in the den with my favorite old time radio shows (and Joy, of course!).

The nights drawing in earlier and earlier, and a warm cozy fire in the comfort and secureness of our own home is just the perfect setting for settling down with some old time radio, and I tend to find I listen to certain genres at different times during the year. I hanker after a good western or comedy during the summer, but the fall definitely suits a good detective or suspense show.

But don't get too cozy, because October is also just around the corner - with Halloween and lots of horror and fantasy shows to keep you on the edge of your seat!

Do you look forward to the oncoming fall and winter seasons?

I guess any listeners who have kids will really look forward to this time of year, as it's usually when many of the schools reopen too!

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
