The Best Dance Routine Ever

The Best Dance Routine Ever

In 1943, one of the best dance routines ever was filmed.

I shared this video on our RUSC Facebook page last month, not long after the Dancing With The Stars final, and everyone loved it so much that I wanted to make sure anyone who doesn't use Facebook could take a peek too.

Fred Astaire said it was ‘the greatest dancing he had ever seen on film’, and I couldn't agree more. In my eyes, it's the greatest dancing I've ever seen. Period!

It was a performance from the 1943 musical film, Stormy Weather, when the Nicholas Brothers, Fayard and Harold, dazzled with their acrobatic routine to Cab Calloway’s hit song, Jumpin’ Jive. Not only that, but the routine was unrehearsed and what you see was the first take!

The Nicholas Brothers were undoubtedly one of the greatest and flamboyant dance duos of all time. How they did those jump splits! Ouch!
