Shows For A Happy Mother's Day
For Mother's Day I am adding a special show from Family Theater entitled Mother of All. You'd be hard pushed to find a more appropriate title for such a day.
This is the story of a mother a mother like your own. She was gentle, tender, forgiving, a woman who put the interest of her family above all other worldly consideration. And yet because of something that happened to her only son this woman suffered the greatest sorrow that a mother can know. Family Theater presents a beautiful modern version of the story of the Blessed Virgin Mary mother of God, Mother of All and the songs in the story are beautifully sung by Ann Blyth.
How fitting for the day that the Family Theater radio series came to light after a priest, Father Peyton, convinced the Mutual Broadcasting Company to let him broadcast a show that promoted family prayer and that he was initially given a free half hour broadcasting slot on Mother’s Day, May 13, 1945. I will add more interesting information on Family Theater this week to RUSC along with more of the wonderful dramas. But for now if you can, be sure to let your mother know how special she is!
