Recommendation - You Bet Your Life
You Bet Your Life, well there's a recommendation and this particular episode is well worth a listen to.
Hosted by the quick witted Groucho Marx this is a fun quiz show game in which three couples each have $20 and they can bet as much as that on each of four questions. The couple that finishes with the most money gets to go for the $2000 question at the end of the show. Plus if someone uses the secret word they win an extra bonus prize.
In this episode broadcast on the 29th March, 1950, chosen from the audience for the chance to win are a couple of people with unusual occupations, Mrs Griggs a wardrobe mistress for a circus and Mr Tommy Dolby a stage doorman for a burlesque theater. Also in with a chance to win are another two couples including an engaged young couple Miss Anne Laine and Mr Ken Miller. It's a real fun episode and Goucho reminds us that the Secret Word Is Name and if anyone mentions it they will win an additional hundred dollars.
This show was recommended by friend of RUSC, Steve M. who said this about it:
"Great show and this is a great episode. Stick with it until the end and you'll see what I mean..."
Well I can tell you his comment had me listening to the episode again, and he was right, you'll be happy you stayed until the end.
Happy listening my friends,
