Recommendation - Lights Out

Recommendation - Lights Out

Carrying on with your recommendations today, here's something to have you on the edge of your seat.

I hope you enjoyed listening to Jack Benny yesterday, that was sure a fun and fabulous episode!

Today something as far away from comedy as you can be... An episode of Lights Out

The last one of the 1943 series, Author And The Thing was recommended by Friend of RUSC, Patricia, who gave it five stars and said this about it:

"When you're the writer, director, and producer, you can really have fun with your last episode. And Arch Oboler sure did, with this deliciously meta tale, in which he ensured he could never do another series of "Lights Out", because he'd killed himself off at the end of this one! He wrote the story around himself, and included his brother, mother, and Mercedes McCambridge (an actress who did many of his plays) in it. And he wrote his role so he could play terror, madness, hysteria, helplessness, and a spectacular death scene."

Patricia is quite a fan of Lights Out and has left reviews for a few episodes, which I will tell you about soon.

Meantime, let us know what you think by leaving your comments, either below or under the show itself.

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
