President's Day - Monday 19th February 2007
Presidents' Day - Monday 19th February 2007
February 12 and 22 were observed as separate holidays to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12) and George Washington (Feb. 22) until 1971, when President Richard Nixon proclaimed one single federal holiday, the Presidents' Day, to be observed on the third Monday of February, honoring all past presidents of the United States of America.
To help you celebrate Joy and I have put together a selection of shows appropriate for the day. Some are of historical interest and some are classic good fun. When you've listened to Chester Riley's, Gracie Allen's, Fibber McGee's and Jimmy Durante's political campaigning be sure to cast your vote for President in our mini poll opposite!
