Mystery Of The Pop Up Ads

The mystery of the pop-up ads has been solved

Over the past few days several members reported some pop-ups ads appearing when they entered the RUSC member's area. In the seven years
that RUSC has been going we've always had a strict policy of no advertising of any kind and so such reported appearances puzzled me
greatly.

There had to be a logical reason so I've had my thinking cap on over the past two days and finally the light bulb went on over my head. It
concerned the minipoll that appears in the right hand corner of the member's home page, which is powered by Bravenet. They have two levels of
service one that is free - and they earn their money from displaying lots of advertisements - and the other that is paid for and there's no
advertising at all. I've always paid the fee so as to not have the advertising, but it turned out that my annual payment needed renewing
and in the meantime the service had reverted to the free one - hence all the pop-up ads.

The good news is that the subscription for the minipoll has now been paid up in full and so we can get back to enjoying our old radio shows
without those pesky ads spoiling our pleasure.

Thanks for your patience,

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
