Memorial Weekend 2020

Memorial Weekend 2020

Monday 25th May marks Memorial Day this year, 2020, and how different our celebrations are going to be on account of the world pandemic covid-19.

In normal years you might be attending a parade or a big family gathering or a picnic in the park or going away on a camping trip, but none of that is possible in the usual way this year.

You can of course have a small select gathering over for a barbecue, so long as you keep your social distance and all use your own separate plates, cutlery and glasses. Hot food from the BBQ is ok as the virus doesn't like heat, but there's to be no sharing of chips or fries. Well that's got to be the best rule to come out of this!

But if you are going to be confined to your own company at home then let us try and make the day as enjoyable as possible for you. Ok, so here's the schedule:

11:00am  Memorial Day Parade with The Great Gildersleeve

1:00pm    Memorial Day Speech from Lum and Abner

2:00pm    Stories of Bravery from Cavalcade of America

3:00pm    Pause to remember the brave troops who have lost their lives to serve our country

3:30pm    Picnic with Phil Harris, Alice Faye and the kids

4;00pm    Command Performance Picnic

5:00pm    An all out salute to the men in our troops with Glen Miller's Sunset Serenade

On top of these wonderful shows a whole bunch of Memorial Day Shows can be found by clicking here

Then when you've had your fill of celebrating, sit back and relax with a Memorial Day themed word search that Joy and I  have put together for you.

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
