Labor Day
Since the first Labor Day parade in New York in 1882, this weekend, as part of the Labor Day celebrations, there will be street parades held all over the country.
On Labor Day, we can show our support to working people, their contributions, achievements and sacrifices in pursuit of national prosperity and well-being. Canada's Labour Day is also celebrated on the first Monday of September. Will you be taking part in, or attending a parade?
The long weekend is generally seen to mark the end of the summer season too, so maybe you're planning on enjoying the last of the summer, enjoying some time at the beach, having a barbecue, watching the fireworks over
Coney Island, or even enjoying the warm end of the summer night with a picnic on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the Labor Day Concert on Sunday (let's hope the forecast of thunderstorms is wrong!). There's always plenty to do over the Labor Day weekend - especially for those who love to shop!
There's a list of shows for you to listen to over on our special Labor Day page. Just click here to download or listen now.
Although Summer isn't officially over until September 22nd, are you ready for the coming season of thick sweaters, hot cocoa, and putting your feet up in front of a cozy fire whilst listening to old time radio shows?
I love the Summer, the sun, vacations, and all of the fresh fruit and veggies at the farmer's markets, but now that I'm older and wiser, I can say with full confidence that Fall is the best season of them all, and I am so ready for it to arrive!
There's a lot to love about Fall - how it feels when the leaves begin to fall, temperatures begin to drop, and autumnal bliss is in the fresh, crisp air - the stunning colors and scenery make me feel alive every year!
Some of my other Fall favorites are that the football season will be here (of course!), and that there will be pumpkin everything everywhere! What are your Fall favorites?
Happy listening my friends,
