I hope you've had a wonderful long weekend, and a happy Valentine's Day this week.

I hope you've had a wonderful long weekend, and a happy Valentine's Day this week.

Two of our greatest presidents had their birthdays in the month of February and to honor them both we celebrate Presidents' Day on the third Monday in February, which falls right between the dates of their birthdays.

To celebrate this we added to RUSC three shows in particular which I loved listening to and learned a lot from each from the Cavalcade of America series, renowned for its historical dramas...

1) Miss Vinnie and Mr Lincoln - Set in 1863, the second year of the American Civil War this is the story of how Vinnie Ream created the statue of Abraham Lincoln, that stands in the Rotunda at the Capitol Building of Washington.

2) Keepsakes - A portrait of Abraham Lincoln, the great emancipator, drawn in terms of the great mementoes and keepsakes collected by Oliver R. Barret and described in Carl Sandburg's book Lincoln Collector.

3) Bless This House - A fascinating trip through the history of of the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and its occupants from it's first residents, in the year 1800, John Adams and his wife Abigail, Abraham Lincoln in 1861 to the 34th President, Dwight Eisenhower president at the time when this was broadcast in 1953.

You may also have noticed that we changed the RUSC Radio Station entitled Presidents to include 43 shows of history, drama and comedy all relating to Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

If that's not enough and you are still in the mood for listening to shows about our past presidents of the United States you will find a list of shows to choose from by clicking on the link.

If you haven't challenged yourself with our Valentines Match the Couples Quiz it's is still available by clicking the link or on the RUSC members area in the left margin under "It's Quiz Time".

We have added some new episodes of the Juvenile series The Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters from this weekend and throughout the week ahead so look out for those to take you back to a childhood of old.

Hope you have a great weekend!
