Happy Easter 2010

Happy Easter 2010

On Easter Sunday, April 4th 2010 I will be adding a powerful hour length drama about the life of Jesus Christ. NBC University Theater brings this fascinating and provocative historical novel entitled The Nazarine by Shalom Asch. It was written originally in Yiddish it has been translated in to English by Maurice Samuel and has undergone a further translation for radio by Ernest Kinnoy.

Over the Easter weekend I am also adding an episode of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriett. Another year, another Easter with its joyful reaffirmations of man’s hope, its traditions, observances and customs. Like many other families the Nelson’s of 1847 Rodgers Road have a few customs of their own. Each year on the night before Easter Harriet remarks, “You know Easter sunrise services must be beautiful, I’d like to go sometime.”  However this year they are actually going to go. Harriett and Ozzie are each worried about getting up at 4:00 am to get there on time so Harriett decides that after Ozzie is asleep she’ll set the clock an hour forward so that they have 2 hours to get ready. However Ozzie has the same idea and also sets the clock ahead an hour. There’s certainly no danger of them not getting there on time! This episode is so funny it will certainly be a tradition of mine to listen to it each Easter.

The Nelsons are not the only family worrying about getting to church on time, No the Couple Next Door, their daughter Betsy and Aunt Effie are busy getting ready to go to the Good Friday Service when Betsy can't find her new Easter bonnet.

If that's not enough shows with an Easter theme for your listening enjoyment you can click on the link for a list of Easter Shows available on RUSC.

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
