Gunsmoke Thoroughbreds 1955.09.17

Joy and I try not to add shows to RUSC that are too bad in terms of the quality of the recording and if we do encounter a show that while audible is hard on the ears we will usually add a warning in the description. This sometimes results in our kind friends sending us a better recording that they have.

Recently we added an episode of Gunsmoke entitled Thoroughbreds broadcast 1955.09.17 and were advised by friend of RUSC Dave Williamson that the Power level on this show was below normal with mid and high frequencies boosted to compensate, but it wasn't completely effective.

Dave kindly normalized the intro, which is normally way above the show's level, to -.1 dB, normalized the balance of the show upward to the same level, and then reduced the mid and high frequencies to a point that it doesn't drill through the eardrums like a Black & Decker.
