Football Fever!

There's been football fever all around this week in preparation for the 55th Super Bowl final between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and here in RUSC we've been in the football mood too!

If you've checked in this week you'll have noticed I've been adding Football themed shows from a series new to RUSC, The Grantland Rice Story.

One of America's greatest columnists of the twentieth century, Grantland Rice was also an influential sportswriter and sports broadcaster who appeared in over two thousand radio programs, mostly sporting interviews, over his long career.

When he passed away in 1954, RCA Thesaurus serialized his book into fifty-two installments, with famed sportswriter Jimmy Powers narrating.

I've focused on his football stories this week but don't worry, I will continue adding shows covering all sports from The Grantland Rice Story for your weekend sports fix.

You can also listen to many of the NFL finals from the 1950's and early 1960's when it was known as The Rose Bowl, by clicking in to the NFL Broadcasts in the sports category.

There are also over two hundred shows on RUSC in all categories from thrilling dramas through comedy, with a football theme.

For easy access to these shows I have created a special Football page, and I have even put together a special Football Radio Station.

Live on Sunday, as well as Granny's "All Time Football Team" you can listen to a funny Phil Harris Alice Faye Show called "Football Tickets". Phil has two tickets for his team's game and he and Elliott are making plans to go the match - but they hadn't reckoned on Alice wanting to go. Listen and see what happens - it'll cheer your day.
